Gary Swangin / CEO & Founder
Gary Swangin is the CEO and founder of Harborside Technologies. He is also the Planetarium Director and Astronomer of the Panther Planetarium in
Paterson, NJ. He was formerly the director of the Newark Museum Planetarium in
Newark, NJ for nearly sixteen years. Professor Swangin has also worked as a International Technical Consultant specializing in designing planetarium facilities for the Minolta and Mitsubishi Corporations, and for Spitz Space systems. He has taught astronomy and astrophysics at
Rutgers
University,
Fairleigh
Dickenson
University, and the County College of Morris. He is currently on the adjunct faculty at
Passaic
County
Community College and William Paterson University where he teaches astronomy.
Henry Wiel / Director of Technology
Henry Wiel is a senior technology specialist and systems engineer with over twenty years years experience in corporate IT environments for Fortune 500 companies. He specializes in designing data systems for the company's projects.
Charles Pettiford / Director of Business Development
Charles Pettiford joined Harborside Technologies in January 2013 and now holds the position of Director of Business Development.Prior to joining Harborside, Charles served in the administration of Mayor Jeffery Jones of Paterson as Chief of Staff. He has also worked at Verizon Communications (operations manager) and served his country with dignity and honor – retiring a master sergeant.As a former Municipal Democratic Chairman, working with local and state elected officials - and on 4 mayoral transition teams - Charles adds invaluable expertise in municipal, county, state, and other public entities.Charles holds a B.A. in Sociology from William Paterson University, a M.A. in Corporate and Organizational Communications from Fairleigh Dickinson University; and, he currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Passaic County College.
